When we started the Business six years ago our focus and specialist expertise was in the townships where two of Camissa owners once resided. Having gained extensive freelance guiding experience for various tour operator service providers in Cape town we so a gap in the market for a tour operator that will offer a service that is different and unique putting more emphasis on traditions customs values and impact of urbanization on all the above rather than focusing on the political history which lead to the development of township communities our business is simple and focused. We conduct Day Tours in Cape Town and its surroundings and facilitate township marketing experiences. The Camissa Team looks forward to hosting you on one of our tours we invite you to do the right thing and get the full picture.

We went on a day tour to Langa with Camissa Tours last week and it was such a great experience. This was my first tour in South Africa and the people of Langa left me with such a great impression. Our tour guide's name was Nelson and he has such a presence with a big voice that make the history... More

We did the Township Tour and were met by Gladstone who took us to District 6 and gave us an overview. We then visited the Langa where our guide was Nelson. Nelson has a great speaking voice and commands attention ! We saw the inside of a hostel house and walked around the areas of informal settlements as well as... More

Thank you to Xolani and Yandissa. We joined in the Palm Sunday service and were guided around Langa township. We enjoyed the morning very much and learned a great amount.

We really enjoyed the tour! It were very nice guys that guided us and it was very interesting. A really interesting afternoon and they helped us as much as they could as our timetable changed last minute. Two guides from the townships tell you everything there is to know and you get to go inside the houses.

We took the Camissa Gospel tour. The tour bus was 45 minutes late. We were scheduled to visit 3 townships. Only visited on one. That was disappointing and no one acknowledged it. Both of the tour guides were very good. Really appreciated the history and current realities of living there.

A highlight of many, many holidays across the world. Fascinating and extremely humbling at the same time. Khonaye Tuswa our facilitator was excellent, with a wealth of accurate information and facts about South Africa in general & the Townships. The church visit was simply incredible, we cannot recommend it highly enough or Camissa Tours. The folks in the Township and... More

An eyeopener and a must for all tourists that visit SA. The tour was well balanced, unbiased and gives you a honest view of how people live in the Langa (Black Township). You visit a day care center, walk through the township with a local guide (JaJa) and visit the home of 16 families sharing a small space full off... More

You will be picked up at your hotel with a minibus. We passed district 6 on our way to Langa and received a lot of information. The walk through the township took an hour and no one felt as a curious tourist, even while visiting a hostel. An important part of a visit to Cape Town, as an European you... More

Camissa was exactly what we wanted. They set up our local township walking tours which even included a walking tour with an actual local resident as part of an employment program, visit with a school, and history lessons before Robben Island. On a separate day we used them as transportation to wineries that we chose in Stellenbosch and even to... More

My husband and I went on our township tour and African cooking experience (Xhosa really) with Camissa Tours. This black-owned, entrepreneurial tour company was great – Khonaye is the co-owner who I had been emailing with since planning this entire trip 5 months ago, and he was very kind and professional in all of our interactions. The township tour was... More
