I visited with two colleagues from abroad. Great photography and informative accompanying stories. Excellent tour guide Alex is very knowledgeable and his passion for this musuem is inspiring. Just one of the many places of interest in the Helderberg Basin. A valuable insight into the wrongs of the past.

This museum tells the story of how the township came to be, and how life in the township is maintained. A walk through Lwandle can leave one feeling sad and overwhelmed, but it also allows one to recognise that the present situation in our townships is very much a product of our country's past

I had an opportunity to visit Lwandle and the museum during my stay in Cape Town. It is located in a small township in Strand/somerset west. It is very easy to visit for example on the way to the many vineyards in somerset west area. Absolutely worth a visit if you are interested in the apartheid times. You read about... More
