The urban park was one of the legacy projects of the FIFA World Cup 2010. The area is adjacent to the Cape Town Stadium and has stunning views of both the stadium as well as Signal Hill. Lovely place to bring the kids to excercise or to have a picnic. It is also a learning experience for young and old. The garden is separated into ‘People and Plants’, ‘Wetlands’ and ‘Discovering Biodiversity’. The park hours are from 7 to 7 with visible security.

I was staying at Green Point and I took a long walk one Saturday. I came across the Biodiversity Gardens by accident. I didn't have long to explore them but I was taken by the beauty and tranquillity of them. Projects like this are a great thing in our urban spaces. A beautiful place to lose yourself for a while

we stumbled across this little gem on our last day of our holiday to Cape Town. We were trying to find a short cut and ended up in this wonderful park. It had lots of birds on the lake and it was a real pleasure to walk around.

Green point with its lighthouse and park is a safe and free place to explore. A rejuvenated area created for the football World Cup means that both locals and tourists can experience a pleasant few hours of gentle walking in peace and total safety. The walk took us onto the football and athletics stadiums and then back to the seafront,... More

Our work Running Club meets here every week & the scenery is just beautiful. A great place to find peace and quiet or just to enjoy a nice stroll through.

I ran my Parkrun there, but you don't have to go crazy and can just walk around and enjoy its beautiful surroundings

Beautiful park!! Clean and with lovely walkways that are wheelchair friendly. Safe enough for a woman to walk around on her own. Park officials ensure no alcohol is brought into the park. Enough shade for a family picnic. A gem in Cape Town!

What an awesome place to visit if you're looking for things to do while in Cape Town. Beautiful gardens to walk around in and a park area for kids. Loved the bio-diversity garden filled with quirky little objects to interest both kids and adults alike. Very peaceful and relaxing to walk around. Views of Table Mountain also amazing.

Think of a London Park, add beautiful weather & a stunning view of mountains, sky & paragliders, many different plants & waterways and remember you are in a City. Green Point Park is also a great shortcut from a buzzy Cape Quarter to a lazy beach stroll at Mouille Point.. Just go & enjoy.. Fitness folk go get jogging or cycling..... More

Take break by yourself, with your friends or the kids in this very successful legacy project from the FIFA 2010 World Cup. Stroll the biodiversity gardens, learn about the Khoi-Khoi--the first inhabitants of the Cape, take in the colour and diversity of our amazing fynbos plant kingdom. It's free, relaxing and easy to get to. Do yourself a favour and... More

I went there early on a Friday morning, and just about had the park to myself, except for the odd maintenance person or gardener (who were all very friendly and greeted me) and a few lone joggers coming from the lighthouse side. It makes for a lovely tranquil stroll in the heart of the city, with a number of special... More
