Went on a busy Friday night. Nice outdoor patio space, but it's uncovered so not much use when it rains. Inside the old world decor is well taken care of. Adorable ticket booth, nice restrooms. The bar has great cocktails. Screen 1 has only one entrance/exit, so it makes for a mini stampede at the beginning/end of each movie. The... More

The Labia, Cape Town's retro theatre has 4 cinemas featuring a diverse menu of alternative/specialist/latest Oscar and other nominated films.A touch of the old and the recently upgraded retro feel creates a great experience..only the increased popularity has created some congestion just before starting times. The Labia has recently enlarged its terrace area where in the evenings patrons can enjoy... More

A nostalgic experience watching a movie in a lovely unchanged setting from the old days. Definitely value for money on the price.

The Labia movie theatre is a great experience and best value for money. Interesting and eclectic decor that only adds to the whole experience.

The Labia is a reliably good and affordable activity for me. It shows a slightly more interesting and diverse range of films than any other cinemas in Cape Town, frequently hosting local and foreign (basically, anything other than Hollywood) films, student shorts and fringe-y film festivals, which means you can sometimes come across a surprising treat if you're willing to... Such a mixture of good and bad. Old and somewhat tatty but still charming. Staff are so rude it's quiet entertaining. You can't reserve your seat so rather a bun fight when the doors open. The foyer is small - so expect chaos when a movie comes out and the next crowd is surging to get seats. Good sounds. Seats... More

I visited The Labia with a friend on a rainy day in CPT. It was such a cool experience. When you enter the building, it's like you've been through a time machine. The decor makes you feel like you are in a cinema in the 90s. They have popcorn, snacks and slushies - for the adults, you have add a... More

Still the best after all these years. Where else can you drink a vodka slushie while watching a classic movie. A Cape Town institution.

The Labia has had a facelift. Still true to its authentic and antique origins, the Labia has improve its seating, and cleaned up, with a new entrance area. I'm so pleased as this is a wonderful art theatre, with original art nouveau features and shows movies of taste. A must visit in Cape Town!

A wonderful selection of films, a great old world aesthetic and excellent restaurant and movie specials most days of the week.
