The building is quite European style. The architecture is magnificent. The tower clock is very catchy and makes you stop for a photo.

City Hall is a beautiful edifice which has witnessed many historic events. It is well worth visiting and appreciating its place in the importance of both the political and historical arena of the Mother City...

The building is a historic one, so it is to be expected to be somewhat rundown on the inside. The exterior is impressive and beautiful. Watched the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra and it sure is the perfect venue for such an occasion. Was worried about parking on the Parade during night-time, but there was good security (guards with dogs).

Once more we visited the Cape Town City Hall for one of its wonderful Concerts. The Gala Concert with the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra with its guest conductor and solo pianist Howard Shelley. What an event! Howard Shelley is a world class conductor and pianist. The performance in the historical building was perfect. W.A. Mozart would be excited if he... More

Walked passed a few times when we were in Cape Town. It's a wonderful brick building and was where Nelson Mandela did is first speech after being released from Prison.

A bit of former glory feel about it. Over century old graceful and distinctive Edwardian architecture. Its limestone was imported from Bath in England. It is known for its mosaic floors, old stained glass, a classic pipe organ and marble staircase. The City Hall assured its place in history when newly-released Nelson Mandela stood on its balcony in 1990 addressing... More

Walked by the building a few times last week and very much enjoyed the architectural design. The building is very unique in comparison to the other ones surrounding it. Definitely enjoyed walking and looking at it.

Rushing hurriedly as I was late for a "welcome ceremony" planned by my group, I walked into the City hall and immediately noticed the elaborate, old but well preserved walls and floors of the building. The main hall and its organ instrument sitting up high was just beautiful. The designs in the ceilings are a work of art. I loved... More

A great place for shows or when orchestras are playing or when there is ballet. A tired building which the city government really needs to jack up and return it to former glory when Cape Town must have been a wonderful city. CPT is still great but full of worldly issues. Drugs, vice and so on. In the area you... More
