We came to Sandy Beach because we wanted to experience a clothing optional beach in South Africa. To get here we had to drive to the end of a residential street and park in the designated parking lot. There was a path to get to the beach which took maybe 10 minutes. On-line we had read that the path can... More

A quite secluded sandy beach which is not easily accessible to parking. Is only option for clothes-free tanning and swimming in Cape Town. All in all is worth the walking regardless of tanning choices as is indeed secluded.

Enjoy the scenic walk to the bay, approx 15 min from the parking area. The beach is absolutely beautiful. Note there are no close loos or water facilities so visit we'll prepared.

My first visit to Sandy Bay.Must be one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen. The temperature was 36 degrees so taking my clothes off and cooling off in the cold sea was a blessing. I found myself a shady spot and spent the day in the perfect place being my imperfect naked self. I loved it!

It is not a family beach. Be also careful not to leave things on the beach and walk alone. For a better place, you can go to Llandudno beach !

It's a bit of a trudge to get there but once you are there, you are free to disrobe, stroll and enjoy the magnitude of the huge rocks right on the sea, enjoy the sunshine but make sure you cover up with sunscreen as the sun and more especially the UV can be damaging! the water is freezing but it's... Very nice and pretty quiet beach. You can relax freely within a 360 degrees nice views. People walking around are very respectful. The beach is a bit far from the parking but the walking distance is not that bad.

Getting to Sandy bay could be little tricky. Moreover the parking is very far from the beach. You have to walk a lot to get to the beach. Its not a family beach. Apparently this is the only beach in Cape Town if you would like to whip off all your clothes. If in case you planning to visit this... More

After a 20-minute walk from the parking in Llandudno you will reach this rather big beautiful beach. Try to go there in the morning when it is not so many people there and the wind is not so strong. The water is cold, 12-14 degrees but we managed to take a swim. When it is windy (in February) it is... More

One of the most astonishingly-beautiful beaches in the world is a 30-minute drive from Cape Town. It is called Sandy Bay, a rather plain name in my mind. You drive down through Llandudno and park where the road ends (it's signposted from the main road). A track, partly laid with boardwalk that eventually peters out, leads away from civilisation to...
