Although Long Street is a hub of shops, restaurants and bars, some of them worth visiting, the last time I was there, I was approached by people selling drugs, I witnessed many drunk, teenagers walking the streets and I felt very, very unsafe. So, if...More

Long Street is THE place to go in Cape Town for a night out. Loads of good bars and clubs and some good eateries too. It's also the place to if you like crowds and the atmosphere they bring. There are nicer parts of the...More

Long Street is full of shopping opportunities - there's something for everyone! Several high-end shops (such as Tribal Trends) are among myriad less expensive emporiums. Sadly, there are many street beggars who can become very aggressive and intimidating to tourist - the usual caution should...More

This is a fun place to stroll, shop or people watch. It is safe, relatively clean and has many diversions along the way. It is convenient and takes you many places in the downtown area

Best restaurants are there, amazings bars and discos. We parked the car anywhere and just walked, choosen a nice spot and have a bier. What could be nicer? Just take care with pickpockets and enjoy!

General rule of thumb, everything in CT closes at 7/8pm unless in the Waterfront. But long street bars and clubs are open till late.

Also agree with TravelfeetZA : i won't do shopping on this street. Keep a one hour walking to visit it and then have diner somewhere and some bar music. That's it! There is nothing special on this street for shopping.
