We were a little concerned about this before going because we'd heard from a couple of people that they had had to queue for hours to get on the cableway. We booked our tickets online and opted for the afternoon session, which started at 1pm. We arrived at about 1.20pm and found absolutely no queue at all, so I think... More

Safe, secure transpo up the side of Table Mountain. Wonderful views on a sunny day. Go early; the line backs up quickly.

The view from the aerial cable car is amazing, the view from the upper station is spectacular. Be warned that the cableway is closed if there are low clouds on Table Mountain or if the winds are above a certain velocity(bot are valid reasons to close the operation down). Since the operation closes often you can expect long lines and... More

I went on a day were it was very sunny, warm and the top was clear, so it was fairly busy. They have a two line system, one queue for people with tickets, and a seperate queue for people that didn't. I hadn't bought my ticket before hand so was in the latter. While waiting, which didn't take very long,... More

The folks at Table Mountain do a great job of expediting the process to move the lines, enter the cable cars and transport visitors to the top of Table Mountain. The process starts at the lines, which are dependent on time of day and year. My wife and I were scheduled to go on a Monday; adverse windy conditions resulted... More

The cable cars are fairly big and you have to remain standing. The interesting thing is that the floor turns so whatever position you are in the cable car you will get an opportunity to have a 360 degree view whilst the cable car goes up. We went in the afternoon of 03 December 2016 and it was very windy... More

The ride is pretty expensive, especially when you compare it to most options in the Cape Town area. But for my parents, who are a bit older and not physically able of hiking Table Mountain, it was the only way to see a place that you must visit when in CPT.

Breath taking and beautiful! First Must do thing in Cape Town. The fee would be half if you plan to use cable car after 6 pm. Sunset is magnificent there so go there in the afternoon. It's not open every day due to wind and weather condition hence check the situation from its website before departure.

Not having a great head for heights, I was a little unsure about this trip up 3,000 feet in a rotating cable car but I needn't have worried. With a payload of 65 people, it is easy to stay in the middle (away from the open windows) is desired but the car is so huge, I found myself happily snapping... More

Taking the cable cars up table mountain is a must do when in Cape Town. The last time I was here was during winter, in July, and because of fog the cable cars were closed the whole time. Late November offered much better weather and I jumped at the chance to see the views from the top of the mountain.... More
