It's a great delight to live in such a lovely part of town. Close to everything and yet very different. There is a very peaceful atmosphere. The surroundings are beautiful. I have never ever found it dangerous.

We walked the streets of Bo Kaap on a sunny afternoon and all the colorful houses are great to see and offer fantastic photo opportunities. You will be amidst a lot of other tourists though and we visited in October which is not the busiest time in Capetown. No need to spend hours here, however we did not have time... More

Let me just start off by saying a lot of people say this place isn't safe. Not once did I feel threatened or that I was about to be mugged at all. This neighborhood which is home to the Cape Malay community was really interesting to explore. We went during the early evening during "golden hour" and it was really... More

I loved our guided free tour of Bo-Kaap. You can of course go see it on your own, but getting the background story made it so more interesting. It is very beautiful and a worthwhile visit.

This area has a lot of history. The houses are beautifully painted in bright colours and the local residents are friendly and often greet you as you walk by. Families with young children playing sit out on the front porch until quite late in the evening. Many of them have interesting tales to tell about how their family have lived... More

Drove through the lovely Bo-kaap and had traditional snacks at a lovely Muslim shop that seemed popular with the tourists. People still live in these pretty row houses

Grab your camera and head out on foot to Bo-Kaap. A muslim area in Cape Town city center. Streets are lined with stunning, bright painted houses. Maybe start out at the (small) Bo-Kaap Museum for some history of the area, then walk around a bit. Don't forget to pop in Atlas Trading for some great Indian spices. There is an... More

Beautiful homes. Neighborhood pride. Friendly people and not too much in the way of crowds. Go here before eleven i the morning to catch the morning light on the multi colored well maintained homes. Then walk down to the Mosque and cover your head, take off your shoes and step inside the Mosque.

We booked this through the tour office and our guide was excellent. Pointed out a very good restaurant. Lots of history.

What a beautiful place to walk about and to look at the many colourful houses and to talk to some of the inhabitants. We met a young boy of about 7/8 years old who is selling his own hand-painted plates.
