I visited this area as part of a group tour. It was very beautiful with all of the colorful houses. We learned a lot about the history of Cape Town and had some great food.

The coloured houses are nice to see but a rather quick attraction. Worth a drive by but not an all day activity!

The central office of the hop on/ hop off bus do free walking tours of Bo-kaap with a knowledgeable guide. Brightly coloured houses and an interesting history. I was told safe to visit in the day but not at night.
