Hiked up the trail to the top of Lion's Head and the view is absolutely amazing. Nearer to the top the route is a little bit tricky. You must watch your step as the dust can make you slip. Also be aware of other hikers. Bring plenty of water. Once you're at the top you'll forget all your struggles to... More

it is a relatively easy 1 hour hike to the top with unbelievable 360* views. To watch the sun set in the West is awesome

Love this hike! Its adventurous but not too challenging. Kids and dogs can do this hike. Take a camera because the view is worth it! Take water with you and wear closed shoes. And don't forget to find Wally's cave.

I am a local and can't get enough of going up Lions Head and seeing the spectacular 360 degree view of Cape Town. It can get really busy especially around full moon but if crowds walking slowly don't bother you then that's not a problem. I find the best time to go is really early, that way you can have... More

Lion's Head is a mountain located between Signal Hill and Table Mountain South of The Cape Town Wharf. It is very historical to SA and certainly worth a visit, though I never found the true Loins Head, I guess my imagination just wasn't that good.

Just go do it if you have the physical strength. Not very hard, but does involve some steep climbings at the top.

This is a highly popular attraction for tourists and locals alike but its no walk in the park for the first timer, elderly or unfit. A wide gravel road welcomes the walker for the first 30 min and then narrows gradually into a winding gradula path that turns into mountain-edge ledges and some steep ropes/ladders. Ive seen tourists with flip-flops... More

I have walked many routes around Cape Town and find Lion Head can be dangerous if not treated with respect. We did a moonlight walk and the route was poorly marked and far too many people had the same idea. There are 2 ladders on the route and we queued 2 hrs to get down. I think the authorities need... A gentle hike up Lion's Head for sundowners is possibly one of the most breath- taking sights I have had. It offers panoramic views of the city of Cape Town and the sunset over the sea is truly spectacular. The hike has no entrance fees and you do not need to secure a guide to walk up. A must do...
