Some portions towards the top are grueling but most can handle the difficulty. The full 360 view at the top is awe inspiring. Hope for a clear day. Just over and hour up and 45 minutes down, wait til you see clear weather.

Great fun climb, with brilliant views of the City, Table Mountain and Cape Bay. It took me about 1 hour 45 to go up and down - I’m mid 40s and fit-ish and it was hard work! Involves a couple of parts where you are...More

I have been there five times. I love this place. Short 45 min hike, the last part a little bit climbing and a 360 degree view on the top. Awesome! Also great for sunset!

Lion's Head is the perfect first stop on a weekend or free-day week morning. It's a lot quieter and you won't have to wait behind a long queue to use the climbing aids in some of the slower parts. The trails are incredibly safe and...More

The hike is fairly short and sweet but the views are insane! expect to be climbing on the rocks up guide chains and steps. Avoid in windy weather. Take a drink and a sandwich!

Take some picnic food and go sit and enjoy the views! It's absolutely magnificent! The walk up will get the heart rate going but so well worth the effort! Just listen to the wind and enjoy the views!

This was such a rewarding hike - the views are amazing in every direction and just get better and better as you climb. Wally's cave was closed when we visited, but there are some other caves right off the main path to explore if interested.

We were amazed by the view during sundown. So beautiful. You need to go here when staying in Cape Town

The view from atop Lion's Head at sunset is unbeatable. My boyfriend and I are both fit 20-somethings and the hike was a strenuous hour to the top, but nothing terrible. It's all uphill and the last third involves some ladders and chains you can...More

I would advise walking up with a friend, preferably not alone as there have been some small muggings at dark in the past. You should be more than fine though. It is a beautiful walk and would highly recommend it. A guide is... More
