Groot Constantia is South Africa's oldest wine producing estate, (est: 1685). Situated 20 minutes from Cape Town central and one of the Big 6 tourist destinations, Groot Constantia is a must visit. With two outsourced restaurants, Jonkershuis and Simon's (Please post restaurant reviews on their TripAdvisor page), wine tastings, chocolate and wine pairing, cellar tours and a museum that reminds one of a bygone era, this beautiful historic winery is a popular attraction.

Lovin’ my first experience of vineyard visit & wine tasting. The purple route of hop on&off bus conveniently took me there. Unfortunately the tour guide assigned for the lot I was in that day seemed to be a rookie, struggled for words & didn’t really...More

I had a fantastic day at Groot Constantia, especially the Wine tasting. The local scenery and the estate architecture was wonderful. I wish I lived a bit nearer.
