We have periodically enjoyed the sumptuous Sunday lunch buffet over the years and were happy to select it again for a family birthday and anniversary celebration. Beautiful wine- farm and mountain surroundings, with excellently maintained historic buildings and gardens, complement the gorgeous food. The selection of buffet dishes seems to be a bit more modest than in the abundant past,... More

We stayed at the Steenberg Hotel two years ago and had a wonderful time Accordingly, on our return visit to Constantia, although we stayed at a different hotel we had to revisit the restaurant. The Head Waiter immediately recognised us and welcomed us back, as if we were long lost friends . We had a superb meal

Had dinner here last night with family . The restaurant is very chic , love the decor . The menu was very interesting . My teenage nephews experimented with dishes would not normally have - rabbit and duck and loved them. I had impala which was fantastic . The food was exceptional . The service was fab and a sincere... More

As far as we are concerned this is a 6+ star restaurant. The staff recognised us after 2 years and welcomed us warmly. The restaurant is beautiful in a beautiful setting. The staff are beautifully trained. The tables are set with very tasteful crockery and glassware. The food is out of this world with a great choice of dishes. This... More

Spent the day at Catherina's hosting a media event. The gardens are absolutely breathtaking and the food and wine are equally heavenly. Had the sommelier pair wines to each course. He was certainly a highlight of the experience. Food, wine, service nothing short of exceptional.

Pleasant surrounding with gardens manicured to perfection and jasmine on the nose The hospitality team is attentive and engaging. We sought out difference in menu which it delivered in writing but lacked on taste. My Zebra dish for main was more memorable in the pine nuts and accompaments. The tuna and salmon tartare was okay but felt the salmon was... More

I don't usually enjoy a buffet, but I found the food here to be excellent and they did not hold back on the roast. Fantastic sitting outside in the beautiful garden. A tad pricey perhaps.

Great location with an impressive wine tasting and dining area around a water feature, very modern and sleek Great wine and food matching and although we had the promotional menu our group was not once disappointed with our choices. Excellent service levels but a pricy excursion for South African as it is clear that the restuarant are more aimed at... More

Exquisite food, interesting menu which is well executed, great service, there is a children's menu and outdoor dining, rooms can be hired for private functions. Once we were even pleasantly surprised by two owlets sitting in the tree above the entrance to the restaurant. The view is lovely, decor is simple, lovely for lunch or dinner. Have visited with friends,... More

I got the impression that Catherina's menu is about good food, seasonal and solid--unlike some of the very experimental and gimmicky offerings at other top rated Cape restaurants. Had the crustacean starter--delicious scallops but found the crumbed prawns a bit dry and bland. We had the red blend called Catherina's--was the cheapest on the menu yet we enjoyed it thoroughly. Main... More
