Went on the trip today on a small boat which took us out to the ocean, the ride out was choppy but fun and the captain was highly skilled in taking us close to shore but keeping complete control of the boat. The weather was good but the waves were a bit choppy. The backdrop is stunning with the beach... More

My fiance and I stopped over in Knysna for the day and he absolutely loves boat rides but I absolutely hate them because I get really bad motion sickness. He insisted on going on a boat ride with Ocean Odyssey which I was going to sit out however Steve (the best skipper ever!) convinced me to come along and said... More

Really thrilling to see the dolphins at play. Seals, hammerhead shark, turtles and even a lone penguin, all seen on our tour. A bit choppy at times but that just added to the fun and excitement. A fun guide who added to the trip. Really great.

For a couple in our sixties, this tour was our big adventure experience in South Africa. It was a small boat on a windy day, and we bounced around quite a bit, but survived nicely. This tour is more expensive than the bigger boats, but the trip outside of the lagoon into the open ocean is worth it. Scenic views... More

Firstly I must say to anyone reading this is that this activity is very weather dependent and secondly, like any safari on land, sightings of animals (in this case whales) cannot be guaranteed. We were advised that the sea was choppy and that the skipper would assess the situation once we were out at sea. If they considered it to... More

Thank you so much for your reveiw, the tourism industry is challenging indeed, people have high expectations and often miss the entire point of the experience. We went on the Ocean Oddysey on November 2nd 2016. We asked at the office about the presence of Whales and we're assured that the morning group had seen Whales. So we went on the afternoon trip with three boats and about 40 people. No one saw anything apart from a two second view of the finest of a dolphin.... More

Thank you for sharing your review; as we explain to all our guests before departing on our trips, we are dealing with nature. While we would love to be able to guarantee a sighting, this unfortunately is not only unrealistic is it not possible. I would like to address the following: Considering that your booking was made online in September,... More

Our guide was already heading back to the harbor, after we had seen 2 seals and 2 shy dolphins, when he suddenly spotted 3 humpback whales. And the 3 (mother, father and a calf) performed for us for almost 45 minutes, breaching more than a hundred times. It was really magic for everybody on the boat. Thanks to Stefan for... More

Well done! Whale watching incomparable to Hermanus! Saw whales, dolphins, sunfish, seals and the most beautiful coastline in the Garden Route. Excellent skipper with a wealth of knowledge of the ocean and its biodiversity! Will do it again and again!

Thank you for your review, while we do our utmost to find the whales out at sea, once you have been out there you can understand that it is a vast area indeed, often it is not that there were no whales but that we just didnt see them. Our skippers have much experience at this and are able to... More
