Goukamma is one of those places one finds almost by default. All of the walks are accessed following a short crossing by rope pulled boat. Then thre are lots of choices, all of them spectacular in their own way from the Bushpig Trail to the...More

So many things to do and experience for the nature lover. Unfortunately on the day we visited it was real cold and windy but will be back!

We take under privileged kids on trips to see their area. Sometimes us helpers get to see a place for the first time too. It is with utter regret that i'd never gone hiking in the Goukamma Nature Reserve. There are plenty of trails, taking...More

We went to visit our favourite picnic spot of many years ago and found it still tranquil but deserted. Although it was during the week, there was no one in sight. The river and nature is still beautiful but the picnic tables were flooded.

Lovely 5 mile walk over sand dunes and through forest. Fantastic views of the bay and river valley. Quite tough walking in the tunes but worth it. Also enjoyable rope ferry across the river.

A very nice beach to stop at if you are in the area. The sea is a bit rough, but the water is pleasant. Nice beach walk without any houses etc in the background. A stop worth making.

If you like walking on the beach or dunes this is the best. You can do either or both and depending on the weather will see everything from whales out at sea to misty ozone oozing indigenous forests.

I am not sure if you are allowed to take pets in. Your best bet would be to phone them and ask directly.

Please start an accommodation type listing for Goukamma Reserve, as it is not an attraction only and has accommodation as well. This would enable room tips and other features that are missing at the moment due to the listing type.
