Though damaged through shortsighted tourism schemes in the 1960s, these caves are still worth a visit for their eerie dark tunnels and stunning limestone formations.

I've been to many cave systems across the UK and Europe, but these are spectacular with knowledgeable guides to help. Certainly worth a visit and the detour from the Oudtshoorn area as there are also other attractions around if you are keeping children amused.

Good tour, caves are quite impressive, but I wouldn't go again if I had better options. The adventurous tour is probably great if you go with children age 8 or up.

The guides are very informative and the tour is very entertaining. The caves themselves are spectacular and the whole experience is great value for money.

I visited the caves back in the days of colored lighting and was sad when that stopped. Now, 45 years later I visited the caves and, after seeing the difference with white lights, I am convinced. White light wins hands down. Our guide was excellent. He not only gave all the geological facts but added enough humor to make me... More

I was amazed by what awaited us deep inside the Cango Caves, beauty far beyond my expectations!!! I was totally mesmerised, it was like entering a fairy tale world, difficult to believe that stuff like this actually exists and is all part of nature. A "world" that every person should experience as no amount of photos can do it justice.... More

Visiting the caves is a good idea in combination with for instance the Swartberg Pass. It's nice to take the regular tour and if it's the first time you visit caves you will love it. But if you have visited more caves don't expect something extraordinarily like the caves in Han ( Belgium) or the Carlsbad Caverns (US). Especially the... More

We visited the Cango Caves for the first time in many, many years and we were truly impressed, both by the spectacular beauty of the caves and the professionalism & knowledge of the guides.

I recently took a family of four Americans to the Cango Caves. I have visited these caves many times before and I am never disappointed. The caves are truly something to see and to experience. If you are able -- I suggest you do the adventure Tour which includes climbing into narrow spaces.

Brilliant experience with an excellent guide, very informative and good sense of humour, well worth the money and time. Please note that the caves are humid so no need to take a cardi or wear warmer clothes.
