One of Stellenbosch's best-kept secrets is the university's botanical garden. It also features an excellent outdoor restaurant, Katjiepiering, which serves tasty, value-for-money fare.

This is a lovely garden to see indigenous plants specific to South Africa. Take a stroll through here and visit the Bonsai collection that dates back over a hundred years. This is a short visit as the garden is small, but worth the while.
