De Meye is more of a rustic and natural atmosphere and setting. Pre book for the restaurant is essential. Wine tasting is a relaxed an a slow paced experience. Lots of trees and good lawns where guests are treated at tables far enough from each other so that every group experience their own piece of nature semi-privately. The food are fresh and not the same every day. The wines are lovely. De Meye is uncommercialized but so worth a visit!

Perfect Saturday Afternoon
Feb 2019 • Couples
Dr Meye has been on my mind for a loing time but I've just not committed to visiting, thinking it was only a restaurant... Then I realised we were drinking De Meye wine at a local restaurant so we headed off for a tasting. What a lovely surprise!!! The wines are delicious, affordable and the tasting area has indoor and outdoor seating. The vibe is relaxed, tasting was informative. We ended up spending a couple of hours sitting under the trees with a couple of bottles of wine. We wished that we'd made a lunch reservation at The Table Restaurant as the good looked and smelled glorious. And the diners were all clearly having a splendid time. It would have been great if we could have ordered a platter at the tasting room....
Wines are very well priced, especially when you consider the quality - R80 was the average price. Awesome Unwooded Chardonnay and the Shiraz Rosé was the lunchtime favorite. They also make brilliant reds, the Shiraz was outstanding! Pop in and do the tasting, it's really worth it.

What a Wonderful Experience
Feb 2019 • Friends
We joined friends for lunch at De Meye Wines and it was with some reluctance on my part because they offer only a set, three course menu, rather than give you a choice. I needn't have worried as from start to finish it could only be described as amazing.
Top quality ingredients, beautifully prepared and served and after enjoying the meal so much, I can only recommend to anybody reading this brief review to book a table as soon as you can. It might be difficult of course because they only offer dining between Thursday to Sunday and I understand from speaking to their amazing Chef that it is very difficult to get a table.
I could wax lyrical for hours about today's experience but think the easiest thing to do is award it the well earned 5 stars across the board and tell you to get your booking in asap. Thank you again to all at Table De Meye for a genuinely lovely experience and keep up the great work.

Outstanding restaurant
Aug 2018 • Friends
We visited this restaurant in a group and had a wonderful wine tasting experience followed by the most outstanding meal of real country food served under the trees in the garden. This is one of the best lunches that we all agreed that we had experienced - double baked cheese soufflé with homemade breads and olives followed by slow cooked lamb and wonderful fresh locally grown vegetables and finishing with the most outstanding desserts!! This restaurant is a must!

Excellent Lunch Overlooking the Stunning Grounds
Aug 2018 • Friends
During our side-car adventure through beautiful Cape Town, my husband arranged for a unforgettable lunch at this incredible estate. The table for us and our five friends was set underneath the trees right next the vineyard; we felt as we were casting in a movie set in Italy or South of France!

The food was exceptional, the wine pairing spot on and delicious. The vegetarian food option for one of our friends was thoughtful, well conceptualized and absolute lekker. A big thanks to all the staff for providing such a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere!

Wine tasting at de Meye
Apr 2018 • Friends
Treat yourself with wine tasting at this beautiful cellar, tables outside under the trees where you can sample delicious estate wines whilst the knowledgable host explains the different wines.

Well priced and delicious de Meye wines on sale, well worth stocking up with red and white wines from de Meye.

Restaurant Table at de Meye is situated adjacent to cellar, next time we will book a lunch, it's a set menu and booking must be done in advance. Tables inside and outside, large rolling lawns and vineyards to enjoy and if lavender is in bloom the beautiful purple flower field greets you as you enter the main gate on your way to the wine cellar.

Highly recommended visit.

Exquiste rustic dining under the oaks
Mar 2018 • Friends
We had a 50th birthday lunch under the trees, and were treated to the most amazing food sourced from local producers in the area. Organically grown and superbly put together to make the most amazing meals. We were suitably impressed from start to finish. To add to the food, the service was exceptional, the wine good! Will definitely be back soon.

Beautiful Food in a Stunning Setting
Feb 2018 • Family
Local friends took us and we loved every second. Tables set under trees with picnic blankets supplied for when you want to lie out on the grass. Beautiful glassware and linen tableclothes and napkins. No menu which was such a treat - to just eat what you are given! And what we were given was amazing. Beautiful salads from the grounds, presented stunningly. A rib of beef cooked with shallots, dauphinoise potatoes and green beans and to finish home made ice cream with home made shortbread and raspberries. Washed down with their delicious Rose. Such a lovely experience and if we lived in Cape Town we'd take every visitor we had there.

Fine dining in an idyllic setting
Oct 2017 • Family
We spent a magical afternoon at The Table restaurant at De Meye celebrating a 40th birthday. The food was exceptional. We had two vegetarians in our party, and chef Jessica Shepherd came up with a menu that accommodated the dietary needs of everyone without any compromise to innovation or taste. The service was exemplary with each course being personally presented by Jessica's husband, Luke Grant. With the tables set under the trees in a lovely garden, The Table offers a fine dining experience in a lovely setting and a relaxed atmosphere.
