Exceptional handcrafted wines with unparalleled views. Uva Mira Mountain...

Exceptional handcrafted wines with unparalleled views. Uva Mira Mountain Vineyards, as high as 620 metres above sea level on the slopes of the Helderberg Mountain Range, nestles against the Helderberg Nature Reserve. With breathtaking views over False Bay and Table Bay, often wrapped in clouds, a cool climate, sea breezes, a granite foundation and strong minerality of the soil, enhanced by acres of fynbos... nature does her work. Uva Mira - The Wonderful Grape.

We visited this hidden gem 2 years ago when my daughter had her first wine tasting on her 18th birthday. Amazed by the view over the sea and Cape Town in the distance, did not know there is such a high wine farm. Two weeks ago we visited again, and were served again by the same lady - Janine. Great... Uva Mira Mountain Winery is located as the name tells, high on the hills overlooking Stellenbosch and False Bay. On a clear day you can see Table Mountain. But there is another good reason to visit the winery: it is making fruity, intense and well balanced wines. The Mira Merlot, the Mira Cabernet Sauvignon, and the Mira Shiraz all show... More

We asked our wine guide to take us to wineries a little off the main track and the last one we went to was Uva Mira. What a fabulous place. The views from this high location, inclduding to the ocean, were spectacular, the service in the cellar town was lovely and, of course, the wines were fabulous. Enjoy.

Just south of Stellenbosch, at the end of the road at the foot of the mountains, this vineyard is worth the detour. Best visited on a clear day as the views are stunning - you can see as far as the coast and Table Mountain. The tasting was very good. Our host was knowledgeable and interesting and the wines were... Best place to unwind in the late afternoon with some excellent wine and great platters. Best part is Uva Mira stays open later than most places in the cape.

We stopped in here by accident and what a great surprise. Lovely wine (though not much on offer the day we were there -- seems it is very popular and regularly sells out). Staff were friendly and the view was amazing. A tranquil stop in a very hectic (but enjoyable!) day.

Recommended by a friend for its amazing views, so requires a clear day to really enjoy the prospect. Very windy on the day when we went for a wine tasting, but a small, well-positioned conservatory with full windows shelters from the elements as well as giving a sighting of the ocean in one direction and the mountains in another. Easy... More

Took a few friends from Ecuador to marvel at the gorgeous views. Their cheese board is delicious, pity about the mediocre wines. Their R500 bottle of Chardonnay is gorgeous though but not for tasting. Visit, order a cheese board but don't look forward to the best wines here.
