On the slopes of Bottelary Hills bordering Stellenbosch, we are a family estate where nature provides the perfect backdrop to grow, produce and share award-winning wines. Summer at Hartenberg brings lunches on the terrace or picnics on the lawns followed by buoyant games of boule. Winter invites you to intimate fireside lunches and sumptuous reds, smoky charcuterie and olives, and sensorial cellar tours. Our Wetland Conservation Area, alongside the vineyards, makes for a beautiful setting for walks and shared family fun.

All is can say is OMG about their Reserve collection of wines and the Syrah in particular. Their other labels are incredibly good but the Reserve is a stellar stand out.

We really enjoyed our wine tasting on the stoep of the restaurant. It may seem an expensive tasting, but by buying two bottles of wine, you recover the tasting fee. The lady that presented our tasting was most knowledgeable and very witty. We enjoyed the...More

We had a small bridal shower at Hartenberg whilst enjoying their picnic. The staff was from the very start super helpful, the venue beautiful and the food and wine food. We will definitely return, what a hidden gem.

Due to the drought the dam on the restaurant is literally empty, somewhat taking away from the charm of this fairly intimate hideaway. What makes it different from most wine farm offerings is that it can only seat a limited number of patrons. That is...More
