That's what wee did, followed the brown sign saying "Anemurium". We had no idea what that meant. Small backstreet, and voila! Breath-taking to say the least. We only spent a couple of hours but one could easily spend a couple of days. Also a really nice plays for a swim away from the crowds. Bought some really nice souvenirs in... More

Just after Anamur on your right hand side you will find this very very interesting place. Many ancient buildings are scattered through the area, some well reserved. Parking place and restaurant available. Also the beach is easy to approach. A winding road up the mountain leads you to the light tower with splendid sea views.

Excellent ruins in pretty good condition right near the sea. When I was there, I had the ruins to myself. Very atmospheric and very interesting. The ruins are at the southernmost point in Turkey. About 6 or 7 km from Anamur.

This site isn't made much of in the guidebook but it is amazing. You can scramble over it, there are large structures still standing and there are mosaics under the dust if you look. It has a lovely beach at the bottom where you can swim.

We drove a long way to see these ruins. They are quite amazing when you realise just wht was built here and what the Romans achieved. The loation right on the southern most tip of Turkey is also amazing. The ocan here is crystal clear and the whole area is kept very clean. Worth a visit if you are passing... More

You can get here very easy and cheaply on public transport from Anamur, ( so you don't need a tour). The ruins are extensive and lead to a beach, that will be a good place to cool off on a hot day ( bring your swim wear). There is just on shop with limited stock, so bring a picnic..

If you are close to Anamur and have any interest in history you have to visit anemurium! It is beautiful and not so touristic, this means that in a spring day you can explore the area almost by yourself. Even if youre not interested in history it's a perfect place to stroll around and if it gets to hot the... More

A taxi ride from Anamur ( our driver stopped en route at one of the banana plantations and presented us with a free banana ) . The vast site is incredible ..we were there for 4 hours ..definitely recommend wearing trainers or decent sandals as much clambering about required. Highlights of this place include bath house, Odeon and mosque with... More
