Great way to get an oveview of the city

It was more common for there not to be anything to look at than to actually see the attraction. The synchronisation was dreadful which was a shame as the facts were very interesting. The total lack of foreign language help was also a surprise and when things do not go to plan as is the norm in BA the communication... More

We had a very positive experience with this bus tour- I'm actually surprised to see the more negative reviews. We found that it circulated frequently, took us to all the places we wanted to go, and helped us see a huge part of the city that would have taken us days to see (especially in the heat). There were always... More

Waited patiently for 30 minutes after the cut off time at stop #4 on March 26th only to see the last bus of the evening sail by 1/4 full and have the driver gaily wave at 8 potential passengers at the designated stop as he rushed by without stopping. Probably anxious to get home at the end of his shift.... More

Shoddy service. Twenty minute service was 1 hour. Half full bus denied entry to long awaiting passengers. Bus driver and attendants backpacks filled a full seat. Surly staff. Audio tour insufficient. Audio often malfunctioned. Its the kind of tourist service one might expect from a government run operation. Oh! It is run by the City. Avoid.

On our first day in BA, we rode the entire length of the three routes deciding what we wanted to revisit the next day, after recovering from jetlag. The quality of the bus varies - not all are equipped with headsets that fully function - but the frequency of the buses allowed us to change, wait 20 minutes and get... More

Unless you are fluent in Spanish to try the subway, this is the best way to get a good view of BA. It's a huge city, we bought 1-day/24 hr ticket and used it to check out the entire city which involved at least 4 different routes with connections. It was so hot, we stayed on the bus with AC.... Ticket purchase information was misleading. Either buy ticket online 24-hours ahead or take your chances. Audio system was wholly inadequate. Earphones shocked us several times. Wait between buses was much longer than advertised. Buenos Aires is still beautiful from open upper level.

When we visit a capital city in any country we will utilise the hop-on hop-off service unless other arrangements have been made with our tour agency. The Buenos Aires Bus was enthusiastically promoted by the BA Tourist Information service. 490 pesos each for 24 hours, closer to 10 hours operational time. We got on at stop 23 together with 9... Wished we'd looked at the other reviews before getting on. Waited ages for the first bust, the audio was impossible to follow on the first bus and slightly better on the second .. all other comments mirror those of other reviews ... but it is a reasonable way to orientate yourself.

I suppose we would do this again because it really is the best way to see the whole city (when traveling to a new city we try to use the hop-on, hop-off bus to orient ourselves), but it could really be improved. Some of the routes were just odd (we were introduced to the freeway twice- two times too many).... More

Staying in San Nicolas

Neighbourhood Profile
San Nicolas
Immersed in the sound of honking horns and the footsteps of busy office workers, the Microcentro area of San Nicolás is where visitors will encounter the true hustle and bustle of Buenos Aires, walking down streets lined with office buildings and banks. The financial district is well-known for its vibrant atmosphere and unstoppable rhythm during office hours. After dark, the hubbub and migrates to Corrientes Ave., where theatre lovers might start their evening at a play and end it in one of the many traditional pizzerias nearby. During the day, Corrientes is known for its many bookshops and classic cafés, which are located just minutes away from some famous landmarks, like the Obelisco, Avenida 9 de Julio, and the Teatro Colon.
