This hop on hop off bus is a clearly rip off. We bought a two day ticket, as they offer three tours. We went on a tour to La Boca which was fine, allthough the headphones are lousy and offer only two languages instead of 10 as mentioned in the leaflet (only english and spanish and most of the time... We were 4 adults and 4 children on Sunday morning. Our tickets cost 1400 pesos for the 2 day tour ticket. We hopped on and started our tour 3 men operate this bus company, The driver, The guide, The ticket seller(speaks french and english when he is selling tickets) There are 3 routes available, each one is 2 hours long.... Not much to add. They try to draw the tourists away from the official tour next by (which costs half). One single and pretty much broken bus for the complete three routes (forget hop-on-hop-off). When you complain, they get aggressive ("do you want to fight with me?). Avoid.

This tour is a total scam. They parked close to the legitimate hop on hop off bus tour and placed their brochures on the closed tourist information booth to make themselves look legitimate. Their brochure shows three bus routes, each of which have a bus stopping at each stop every half hour or so. The reality is that they have... More

From the majority of reviews already posted, this is not a service you can recommend very strongly. However, having said that, and having not previously reviewed it before we arrived in Buenos Aires...we did elect to "take the tour", mainly because we had limited time available and accidently came across L'Open Tours when walking by. We had earlier checked out... More

We were extremely disappointed with this tour!! The bus is in extremely bad shape and dirty!! We did not notice since the door was closed when we purchased the tickets... There were no head phones available, the guide kept running up and down the hallway so everyone could listen. We specifically asked if it was hop on/off style and they... More

Oh, how I wish I had seen the Trip Advisor reviews on this company yesterday!! My experience today completely concurs with what many other people are saying here. Its completely overpriced - I (luckily) avoided the 2 day ticket, 450 pesos and paid 250 pesos for the single trip. Rip - off! They say they offer audio commentary in several... More

The bus tour offers 3 routes (red, blue and green). I paid for a 2-day pass and was able to complete the red line the first day. They gave a brochure that CLEARLY stated the schedule of each route. When I showed up the next day for the blue line, the company rep said the bus would be 15 minutes... More

Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
