Worth spending some time here

Nice spot to walk around and take in a dinner in the evening. A lot of traffic in the area especially on weekends. But well worthwhile to visit.

We were recently in Buenos Aires for one night, and stayed at a hotel located in Puerto Madero. This is a beautiful commercial and touristic area with lots of restaurants and a very famous rotating footbridge built by famous Architect Calatrava. Here, you can even visit a ship they have there for touristic purposes. We were with our 10 months... More

You can easily walk down there and pick one of the various restaurants to have a good meal. You will also spot the "Puente de la mujer"

Surprised at the great remodel of the warehouses, the modern buildings, and the assorted cafes. Had wonderful lunch with delicious pasta, local greeeeen olive oil, and a local crowd for less than 40 dollars for 2. You should not miss this area near the river

It is a more modern part of the City. I think it is worth a visit on a good sunny day. Lots of restaurant and cafe. We learnt that Port Madero is named after a great Argentina Architect. We did not get a chance to eat there, but we would have liked to if we had more time.

Great area regenerated for walking around. Best, try the restaurants along the docks. La Cabana had amazing steak and such a nicely chilled beer, it was perfect.

Beauftiful scenery, great fine restaurants, and cheap scapes, it has something for everyone. Love the old boats and el Puente Mujeres. Great for strolling and relaxing.

We were staying at the Hilton and chose the area because of its central location and choice of bars and restaurants. Even if you aren't staying here, it's worth a visit to just walk along the canal and find a place to eat. Most restaurants have outdoor seating so it's a great place to relax and people watch. You can... More

Staying in Puerto Madero

Neighbourhood Profile
Puerto Madero
From its refurbished red brick buildings and port cranes to its modern skyscrapers and luxurious apartment buildings, Puerto Madero is the perfect combination of old and new. The river provides a quiet, relaxing atmosphere that contrasts with the hustle and bustle of heavy traffic just blocks away. Across the river, flanked by skyscrapers, are beautiful parks and quiet streets that make this neighbourhood a unique destination in a city as busy as Buenos Aires. The restaurants, bars, and nightclubs on the docks make it a prime spot for nights out and have come to symbolise this area. Puerto Madero is even more striking after dark, when the lights from the docks and skyscrapers glow against the night sky.
