There are four small plazas that surround the central Mendoza plaza, each with its own theme. The Spanish plaza has a good fresco and central fountain, as well as an interesting tiled flooring.

I returned to this square after some years, and I was very sad to see how bad maintenance it was. The trees and green areas were fairly nice, but the fantastic majolica that decorates benches, walls, floors were deteriorated, in many cases by abuse or...More

We liked this one the best of the four. The variety of tile work is amazing. Also, there are some nice paintings depicting Spanish culture and history. A little maintenance would go a long way. Still, well worth a half hour or hour.

it is quite nice even to walk at night, nothing special though, but worth to visit if you are in town

A pretty plaza to visit not far from the main square and city centre. There are some nice spots to chill out and people watch or check out the nice architecture. Although we were safe there were lots of sketchy looking people around after dark.

Plaza España has original "mayólicas" and spanish arquitecture. It was originally conceived along as the other 4 squares (independencia, Italia, San Martin and Chile) as a safe zone for earth quakes.

This plaza needs a bit of TLC. The monument was covered in graffiti and some of the murials were cracked and damaged. Grass a d shrubs were needing attention too.

This is my favorite square of the 5 squares in Mendoza. I love the little squares, the statue in the center, and the dedication to readership.

This is one of the 4 plazas that surround the Plaza Independencia. This park seems to be in the best shape. There is a monument with Spanish tile at one end of the park and a nice fountain.
