Great trip. Goes up to 4,200 m. Unfortunately nowadays it departs/ends at San Antonio de los Cbres (from Saöta you are transferred by bus); train section could be longer (as in former times)!

Long trip, great people, excellent guide, lousy food. Really took almost 12 hours and 2-3 hours were on unpaved roads.
