The best thing about this exhibition is that it was free. There was a photo exhibition when we visited. It consisted of 20 small portrait photos taken of semi-famous Argentinia people. It was all shown in the one small room that the museum has. Leaving the exhibition we just felt sad, annoyed and wondering about if it was a joke.

We were impressed with the art scene in Salta. During our visit the galleries held works of one contemporary artist, whose paintings were both provocative and well executed. Since the museum is on the main square (next to the theater, which has an impressive list of plays and music in its program), it is close to other main attractions and... More

I visited this museum without planning to and it was well worth it. The exhibit was small (one large room), but it was free and on the main plaza, so easy enough to get to.

There are two floors - and you have to make sure, you don't miss the first floor. In March 2014, there was a very special photo exhibition of an argentinian artist on th ground floor. Really good quality. On the first floor there are paintings, photos and installations of current artists. We liked it a lot.

The museum is small and was changing exhibits..so could not form any opinion of whether worth a future visit...easily found and good opening hours.

The MAC in Salta is tiny--it only holds 2 or 3 exhibits at a time. But we saw a great exhibit by a contemporary woman artist, and it's free and on the main plaza so you can't go wrong.

I'm not really into contempory art, but I did enjoy walking round the galleries. There was an interesting photographic display upstairs showing immegrants coming to Argentine. Unlike anothere recent visitor we were not asked for an entry fee.

The day I visited there was a small display on the ground floor of local artists work, but on the first floor there were two major exhibitions - one of work based on musical instruments (collage, engravings, etc) and the other on immigrant experiences expressed through creative photography. Both exhibitions were of the highest quality, well-curated and displayed with plenty... More

We paid the incredibly affordable price of 2 pesos each to visit this museum, thinking to kill some time. We check out art whenever we can, but this didn't appear to be much. The first floor is well lit, and had some interesting large pieces printed on plastic laminate. Then, we visited a small alcove of a second floor with... More
