My wife and I visited San Lorenzo after driving to see Punta Norte. We had our hotel book a time for the guided tour before our day trip and happened to arrive early. Fortunately for us, they could accommodate us joining a earlier tour group....More

We went to San Lorenzo to see the penguins, but discovered on arrival that we could only see them on a guided tour that was only at 3-4 time slots during the day. The next tour was in 1.5 hrs, so we ate (very mediocre...More

We visited San Lorenzo in late November and saw incredible penguin action. From the very large number of burrows and penguins making their way to and from the sea (with thousands lined up on the shoreline) to many healthy chirping chicks (and some not so...More

Amazing, penquins, penquins! Get there early, as the day progresses there can be many large tour buses. We hired a private driver who met us at the cruise ship dock. We had the beach and penquins pretty much to ourselves for over an hour. It...More

This was an extraordinary experience. Easily the highlight of many days on a Cruise. The penguins were all over the roads, beaches and hiding (sort of) in their burrows. I found it interesting that the burrows were originally off the path but now as time...More

Visited when (Megallinic) legions were nesting (incubating egg(s)) so most were pretty still in their burrows/holes in the dunes with very few moving around. Having said that, this was still fascinating especially if you haven't seen pensions in natural setting before. There is a marked...More

I would use Patagonia del Sol/Huinca Travel (they are owned by the same people) and if possible ask for Sebastian or Mary as the guide. We had Sebastian who was incredible, but also have read that Mary is very good.
