Though it is a long drive from Puerto Madryn to arrive at the Estancia, it is a visit that is so unique and a vision that is truly memorable. Where else can you walk among hundreds of penguins and see them close up in a natural habitat. We visited when many of the Magellan penguins were incubating eggs in their... More

Visited when (Megallinic) legions were nesting (incubating egg(s)) so most were pretty still in their burrows/holes in the dunes with very few moving around. Having said that, this was still fascinating especially if you haven't seen pensions in natural setting before. There is a marked pathway around the colony (to minimise disturbance) but since the penguins are unaware of this,... More

This was one of the very few shore excursions we opted to do through the cruise line. And it was a winner! The worst part was the bus ride to and from the ship. But our driver was absolutely fantastic at finding wildlife along the road (emus, maras, guanacos, and ground owls) for us to photograph. Once we reached Magellan... More

The Estancia San Lorenzo is a 2 hour drive from Pueorto Madryn...but so worth the drive. In the Punta Norte area, Estanica San Lorenzo is home to a fantastic colony of Magellanic Penguins. You walk among the Penguin families and see them feeding their young and fishing. It will be a fantastic memory you will never forget!

I went here for lunch as part of a shore excursion organised by Princess Cruises. I was very happy with the experience. After visiting the penguins we were taken to this place for a very well cooked buffet lunch with drinks supplied as well. The hospitality was great and staff very friendly

Estancia San Lorenzo is one of the most amazing places to visit. You can have lunch at the restaurant and then visit the penguins colony. Try the "cordero patagónico". Delicious! There are hundreds of penguins with their puppies, in their natural habitat and living in peace while the season doesnt ends. They walk without being phased by our presence. The penguins... More

I love penguins. I think everyone loves penguins because what's there not to love!? If you truly want to see penguins up close then you have to pay this Estancia a visit. You'll be walking amongst the little feathered creatures and they'll be all around you with their cuteness. These adorable birds aren't even phased by your human presence! Just... More

I absolutely loved this place. For anyone with even the slightest interest in the natural world this is one of the most incredible habitats on the planet. You will see all sorts here from Penguins, orcas, armadillos and all kinds of other amazing creatures. I went there some years ago but wasn't allowed to enter that date, however, I simply... More

Estancia San Lorenzo was one of our favorite penguin sites (second to Volunteer Point in the Falklands). Magellanic penguins were everywhere - we were able to wander about freely as long as we didn't impede the penguins and stayed within the rock borders. We were amazed at how close we could get to these magnificent birds. They are fearless of... More
