We came to Bariloche (and certainly San Martin) primarily to drive the Ruta de los siete lagos. We didn’t have the best weather, but we were nonetheless pretty disappointed. The scenery is pleasant, but nothing like you get on some of the world’s better driving...More

The drive from Villa la Augustine to SAN Martín is one of the most amazing drive we’ve been through. Every lake is different and has a description and a brief history. Very beautiful.

Absolutely beautiful vistas of magnificent lakes. They all have their particular characteristics and each lake provides travelers with just a cellphone as well as photography experts with amazing opportunities to get one of a kind shots. Highly recommend!

Mountains, bluffs, mesas, plains, spectacular lakes, sandy beaches, occasional cows & sheep grazing roadside, roads made for sports car stick driving, cutest little tourist towns with wonderful restaurants. Is this heaven or what.

One never gets tired of driving and stopping at Miradors to look at one lake after another, or even walking to their beaches, they are all uniquely beautiful.

We drove along this route in both directions - if you only go in one direction it doesn't matter which way you do it although more of the stopping points are on the right hand side if you start from San Martin de Los Andes....More

Sorry we drove so I'm not sure about bike rental companies. We did see bikes on the road which appeared to be set up for long distance rides.
