The Catedral de San Carlos de Bariloche is a must see when in Bariloche. Entrance is by donation and it has some very beautiful and controversial stained glass windows depicting the native Mapuche killing the priests that came to Christianize the people. An interesting cathedral to visit and the setting could not be more beautiful right along Lake Nahuel Huapi.... More

If you are in the area you should definitely swing by the cathedral. The building is beautiful and has a good view of the lake.

The cathedral is somewhat austere but breathtaking because of that. The interior is mainly stone with colorful stain glassed windows providing decoration. The ground level was beautiful and another row of stained glassed wIndows were way over head. This is one of the masterpieces created by architect Alejando Bustillo. If you are looking to enjoy Bariloche's architecture this is one of the places to go. You should check out the timetable because is not open to public all day long.
