The Avenida del Liberator is the Main Street in El Calafate which goes on for kilometres ! It is full of shops of all kinds, hotels, restaurants, cafés, supermarkets, the Town Hall, Church , Los Glaciares visitors centre and much more. Enjoy!

This is a main street in town. Along it you will find all sorts of cafes , stores and other businesses to fill your needs as you visit the area.

Typical poor kind of tourist street, boring. Souvenir shops and restaurants, all too expensive. Not my type of thing

Typical tourist street filled with restaurants, bars and chocolate shops. There are also shops for souvenirs or for clothing in case you didn't bring proper clothing with you for trekking or being exposed to the winds. Nothing special on this street.

Much of what El Calafate has to offer can be found on this street or off its side roads. Lots of activity, noise - and street dogs, particularly the ‘gang of five’ we spotted regularly.

Shops, restaurants, coffee and ice cream parlors... all can be found here. Loads of souvenirs and sports stuff so yes touristic but the vibe is really nice. Definitely liked it!

Agree with fellow travelers that it is a touristy main street, but so what!?! Go for a walk and support the local economy. I tend to buy very few things, small things, particularly silver jewelry with local stones when I travel and there are some...More
