It was a lovely day which helped greatly to emphasise the amazing colours of the icebergs. The glacier is enormous and we viewed it from different angles in varying weather conditions. Certainly an experience never to be forgotten!

We had been there in the summer of 2017, stayed in a hotel besides the lake with lake view from the window. Easily to observe the view from dawn to twilight. It's not hot in the summer because wind is strong often. Not much activities in the area of the lake near Calafate side so you can experience the tranquility... More

The water is unbelievably beautiful. The color is so unusual. Nice for a walk to see the wildlife and enjoy the outdoors

No one will belive you if you just tell them the water colour, so make sure you take several photos to show them. Pick a tour to Walichu Point to have a good look from up high.

It is enough to see it from the bus and from El Calafate. It is big lake wit nice mountain range in the back. That's about it.

This is the largest lake in Argentina, it's beautiful blue color comes from sediment suspended in the water. There are smallish icebergs floating around. Enjoy views of the glacier while on a boat ride.

We took a boat to Estancia Christina and passed gorgeous turquoise icebergs on the way. The wind was extreme at times -- couldn't go out in back because it was too windy and the water was coming up over the sides, but once it calmed down, everyone was watching the gorgeous ice bergs. An amazing way to get up close... More
