A Very large lake with an incredible green color. It is also very large and beautiful. We did the catamaran ride and highly recommend it.

This lake stretches from the Parque National Los Glacieres to a long way east of El Calafate and is the largest freshwater lake in Argentina. It is very exposed, with few trees around and a harsh environment. It is a magnet for a lot of...More

As we flew into El Calafate from Bariloche we saw this enormous lake. Once in town we decided to walk to the lake. Very breathtaking! Sitting on the shoreline looking at the lake as well as the surrounding mountains makes for a beautiful site. Natural...More

This beautiful lake created by the glacier nearby has mountains all around and a beautiful light blue coloring that looks amazing. We stopped for some pictures on our way to Los Glaciares National Park.

The 5 hour boat tour through Lake Argentino is unforgettable and breathtaking! Besides the magnificence of the glaciers, the color of the water, the big blocks of ice floating (parts loosened from the glaciers) and the constant changing light makes this lake absolutely magnificent! Difficult...More

We loved the lake but have to say that we only had sunny weather while in El Calafate overlooking the lake from our hotel. We toured the lake on horses and have to say that made it very special. Dogs from the stable went along...More

The lake provides a splendid vantage point for the Perito Moreno glacier. But of itself the lake is a phenomenon, with a colour a curious blue caused by the tiny rock pieces held in suspension in the water, after being released from the glacier. Has...More

Sailing around the largest lake in Argentina is a wonderful experience. So much to see and seeing icebergs floating like blue meringues is a humbling experience. Well worth a visit

Took a day tour to see the lake along with the historic caves. Really beautiful! Not too far from El Calafate. The lake is an impressive size and a beautiful hue of blue. Soak it all in... feels remote and exotic!

The lake is huge and very blue. Love the cruises we took on it to Perino Moreno and Upsala glaciers (2 different days). Very dramatic scenery!

Hi Diane My trip to Patagonia was the first 3 weeks of January. We could not have asked for nicer weather. Clear skies and daytime temps 55-60 degrees. It was shirt and short sleeves all day long. In El Calafate we stayed... More
