We were treated to a beautiful day with the highlight visit to the penguin rookery. The Gentoo, Magellan and even a King Penguin gave us quite show. We also saw a pair of Sei's Whales swimming alongside our boat on the way out of the Ushuaia harbor. We ate at the restaurant but did not receive very good service from... More

We loved taking a penguin tour here. Staff were knowledgeable, the area was beautiful, and of course the penguins were great!

The penguins and albatrosses, lighthouses etc. are special but this is the place with history and great meaning that you should include in your tour.

We went here because the tour that walks with the penguins start here. Other than that not much to do. Years ago they use to have more but not now.

I joined a day tour to remote Harberton, led by a local guide who was wonderfully entertaining and very knowledgeable. We stopped along the way to take photos at a stunning vantage point, and then took a zodiac to one of the islands from the old homestead. Here we enjoyed looking at, walking by and being told about gentu, magellan... More

To see how rather recent history has influenced the development of the region, how well-meant intervention to save the 'savages' and their souls, has actually contributed to their extinction.

Visited as part of a trip to Martillo Island (penguins!). We had lunch at the restaurant. The food was good and reasonably priced - I had mussels and my husband had a stew. The maritime museum is small but interesting. The estancia has sweeping views of the Channel and surrounding around. Worth a few hours of your time!

a pleasant surprise, as we weren't expecting much! we loved their cheese empanadas! i had the pasta with pink sauce, and it was simple but delicious. my hubby had the legume soup, which was very hearty, in an intense way. he liked t, and i thought it was healthy but not as flavourful as hoped! overall, i was thrilled to... We stopped here for a short while. The museum was interesting with lots of skeletons. Coffee was available in the farmhouse. Can be very windy and cold and grey. We were lucky.

The drive did not seem as long as I had expected, and the grandchildren had no problems with it. Nice scenery; we stopped for a few minutes to note our location - Chile on the left, Argentina on the right. We wandered among some of the "flat trees." Then on to the estancia where we rode a zephyr across Beagle... More
