We did the pools, the mud treatment and the ear cleaning. The pool were nice and clean. Luckily, it wasn't busy when we went so we had the whole place to ourselves. The mud treatment was interesting. We thought we were supposed to bathe in mud. In fact, they just bring you a bowl of hot mud for you to... More

The prices are extremely reasonable. The staff was lovely and took care, of our needs. I celebrated my birthday there and I received a free service. The ladies even sang for me. They were lovely. We tried the steam box treatment, facials, foot massage, and warm stone body massage, which was superb. The views are amazing!!! Highly recommended.

I went with some folks I met while traveling in Banos to do the baños deal cajones. I don't like heat or saunas, but this is actually something I plan on doing again. The entire experience takes about an hour. The staff was wonderful and the facilities were great (including the bathrooms which over look the canyon and river). The... More

Girlfriend and I were looking forward to a spa treatment. This place is out if town ($2 taxi). The grounds are gorgeous and filled w trees and flowers. Spa prices are way too expensive (similar to usa). $40 for exfoliation. $30 for 45 min massage. Place was clean, staff professional. My massage even included hot stones at the end. Afterwards,... The spa is awesome. This is the best spa experience I've had. Definately worth going to. Prices are very affordable.

El Refugio Spa was such a fun unexpected day in our travel. We got a mud mask, sat in individual saunas which was a refreshing detox. And finished the day with a great massage hot stones and all. No one spoke English at this spa which made it all the more fun for us.

We went there for Mother's Day weekend. We were explained the sessions they have but later we found out they also had bundles for Mother's Day but no one told us a thing. I took the massage which was nice but didn't like the room. It was like a cave with statues of buda, angels, pyramids, eyes...awful in my opinion.... More

Decided to visit as the weather was awful one day in Banos. We chose a relaxing massage and pool access. I enjoyed my massage but my boyfriend was not so convinced, his masseur had slightly rough hands which didn't help his first experience of a massage. The pools are nice to relax in after and they bring you a tea... More
