There is a waterfall feeding the pools and you can stand under the cold water if you like where some of the waterfall is funneled. There are 2 temperatures of pools, one was too hot for me but the other is just right. It is...More

A good place to relax a bit. the Spa has a few pools that have different temperature. Perfect after a busy day of hiking or other sports activities.

We really like the old-school thermal baths and opted for this instead of the new ode to concrete. While staff were friendly and helpful, the waters were disappointing. The temperature as not regulated well, either too scorching (many fled after seconds) or just mildly lukewarm....More

We visited here in the evening. You’re required to bring a swim cap which can be picked up at any little shop nearby. Inside there are changing rooms, showers, and a storage area for your stuff. These are located both upstairs and downstairs. The two...More

After a day cycling we thought of relaxing a bit at the hot springs. The place is not so touristy and it is full of local tourists, which is nice. I understand that the hot springs are natural and come from the nearby volcano whilst...More

They are building a new hot springs next door, and it looks really nice. This is a place to soak if you are a hot spring junky, but not up to other hot springs standards.

Always very crowded. But the waterfall and the surrounding mountains are beautiful. Loved the cold water swimming pool, because everybody is in the hottub/jacuzzi ´s. Funny experience.

I almost did not go here, given what I read about large crowds, which I do no generally like, but I am glad that I did. The overall experience was well worthwhile. The waters were terrific - I can't believe I did the extremely hot...More

We went on a Sunday, early in the morning as a local suggested, but it was still crowded. The waterfall (cascada) was beautiful, as was the surrounding mountain vista. But we would rather go in a water treated hottub/jacuzzi than in the dirty pools here....More

Oh my goodness!!! The water is something like 128 degrees F. Yes, you heard that right. I didn't know humans could stand water that hot but you can (barely). It takes quite a while to get your lower body accustomed to such heat but I...More

There are several restaurants within walking distance of the hotels in the centre of town. Banos isn't very big and there are plenty of people in the streets, so I think it's safe. Several hotels (and even some hostels) have... More
