I have been climbing this mountain, which is located near my residence, for almost 40 years. It’s good exercise, but not overly difficult. There is a path all the way to the top. The views of Phoenix and Scottsdale are excellent. While it is steep...More

So on searching the Piestewa Peak website, I picked a moderate hike that wouldn't devour my day. The Quartz Ridge Trail is an out and back trail that is about 1.75 miles one way. The parking lot was already full by 7:30 am on a...More

Our concierge, Michael from Hilton Pointe Sqaw Peak recommended these trails right behind our hotel and they were exactly what we were looking for. Challenging yet easy enough for me and my sister and nephews to climb while visiting Phoenix, AZ and not be overwhelmed....More

Piestewa Peak is very similar hike to the hike down to & out of Havasupai (where the blue green waters flow in the canyon and YEP it is the color of the Carribbean). It is not as difficult as Camelback.

Climbing this peak is a challenging but manageable hike; very busy on weekends especially early mornings. I’d recommend a very early start in order to get a parking spot. Trails are not only well-marked but are practically a vertical sidewalk. People are friendly and courteous...More

While the peak seems daunting my wife and i hiked this with our 5 month old in tow. It wasn't as bad as expected and the views are great.

Lots of trails and beautiful scenery. You can bring your dog, just not on the summit trail. They must be leashed on the other trails. It's a great view of Phoenix and the trails are well kept.

Not sure if the rules have changed much in the past 20 years but it used to be strictly first-come-first served. You can bring your own chairs.

Desert Vista trail over by Dove Valley is an easy one. I would also recommend the Apache Wash trail.

Well... It's not a smooth inclining trail. Mostly stepping on rocks of uneven heights. Depending on your comfort level and fitness level but I would say no. 😄
