My husband and I very much enjoyed our hike at Pinnacle Peak. It was about 1.75 miles in each direction and you hit the highest elevation at about a 1/3 of the way in from the start. We noticed that most of the other hikers...More

Pinnacle Peak is a very pleasant hiking park in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area. It is very popular, but we found that the hikers were quite friendly, with the faster hikers passing the more relaxed folks following safe trail practices. The trail is 1.75 miles out and...More

Desert park in Scottsdale surrounded by development. Grossly inadequate facilities for the typical weekend crowds, like minimal parking and just a single Men's toilet (yup- ONE toilet!). Trail hike is 'rewarded' not by desert vistas but by views of Scottsdale sprawl in every direction. And...More

We liked this trail so much that we hiked it twice while in Scottsdale! Moderate hike that takes about 3 hours roundtrip with a very good view from the top of the trail. Beware that the trail is very popular so getting there in the...More

From the trailhead, you look up at hikers going up the mountain and say - looks steep and rough. We started out and it is a more gradual climb than it appears. About 3/4 miles into the hike and you reach the summit. The trail...More

This was a great hike. There was ample parking and a nice visitor center with restrooms. We felt it was fairly easy until we turned around to come back. It was a steeper climb on the way back. Great for families as the terrain isn’t...More

This is a very easy trail and can be accessed by hikers of any age. It is very well marked and pretty wide. I had read a description saying it was moderate difficulty but I didn’t find that to be the case. Great views!

Mid morning crowds on the trail and on the local side street for parking are too large. Arrive early, enjoy the walk/hike and the great views.

Love this hike for a workout.. as do many..offers beautiful views(daybreak is incredible).. you'll cross paths with many so for some this may be a little too well travelled ..

Breathtaking views around every corner, this is easily my favorite hiking and I use that term loosely (very moderate) trail. I love how over the years my kids have evolved from loving the trail for it's spectacular views to running it for exercise. Bring your...More

Do both. Each has magnificent scenery. From Pinnacle Peak, however, you'll get some more expansive views, not to mention some bird's eye views of gorgeous homes. In the Preserve you are closer to the desert.
