If you are traveling Route 89A between Flagstaff and Sedona then watch out for the potholes in the road- especially if you are traveling at night. The speed limit is 40 mph, the painted lines have long since faded, and the potholes are extremely difficult to see at night. So thankful we were driving a rental car- I'd hate to... More

Oak Creek Canyon us great for a drive or for hiking. Bring your camera and be sure you have some good shoes that grip...hiking shoes are best, but I have done it it tennis shoes as well. If you are a photographer, take your tripod and get there when the sun rises or sets. The light can be quite inspiring.

Take this route to go to the Grand Canyon...very scenic drive, take your time and enjoy. Best if driven in the daylight, many curves.

The views were very beautiful. Snow on the mountains and in the valley. The drive was very picturesque. Take your time. Stop at the rest areas and take in the amazing views.

We drove down the highway and then back up (toward Flagstaff); the beauty is not adequately described. The weather was sunny in one direction and overcast with rain the other direction - still beautiful both times. It is worth the few extra minutes to travel this canyon - looking at the rock formations, the creek and water, as well as... More

Took the trip through the canyon this am and the views were stunning. Be forewarned the curves and mile high climb do not lend to sightseeing. Reminded me of the Dragon's Tail in North Carolina through the Smokies but so much more scenic.

I drove this route during sunset on the way to Flagstaff then again on my return to Phoenix on a hot Sunday afternoon. I enjoyed the tree lined drive long the river and canyon that broke the heat of the hot desert sun. The shade and greenery was welcome! We stopped at the Indian Gardens cafe and also at a... More
