Bad news - it’s an out and back. Good news - it’s worth it. And the views are completely different in each direction. The trail is 95% run-able, with only a few rock staircases near the final views. Don’t miss this trail if you want...More

Well maintained trail to the most awesome panorama of red rocks. We spotted a jeep tour at the top but preferred to hike.

This is one of a number of trails off 179 and like most there is limited parking at weekends and holidays. The scenery is great and the walks are easy and some of the best you can do in Sedona.

Don't get me wrong, this is a trail worth hiking but if you are out of shape or have the wrong hiking shoes on, it can be quite strenuous. If you are prepared and walk slowly (it is over 2 miles one way), you can...More

Very nice easy hike. Great for beginners. Absolutely beautiful view. I bought some new hiking shoes for the occasion and it was worth every penny.

You can access Little Horse Trail from Highway 179, the parking lot is ample but would fill up easily at prime times of the day. The trail itself is almost "paved" and wide enough to fit two Semi Trucks side by side, so very easy...More

Easy and short trail with awesome scenery. We were talking about doing a jeep tour till we discovered that we could easily hike in to the same places and enjoy them at our pace.

The spaceship rocks are really cool. This is a popular trail but depending on the time of year you may get a little solitude. I'd say this trail takes about 2 hours. Not too hard, not too long, and rewarding views at the end.

This was such a great hike - the views were amazing. It was fairly easy, and we had no problems making up to chicken point. On our way back we to the off shoot to the chapel, this was honestly a pretty boring hike, my...More

This trail brings you to chicken point..Were the jeeps meet up. Bring enough water & go at your pace. It will be great. I did it at 70 years old.

I think your question has been answered - just wanted to add that you can extend the hike if you wish. It's a great hike and the rocks at the end of Little Horse are great for a picnic.

There are signs along the highway that let you know where it is located. I believe the signs say "Little Horse Trailhead," if memory serves me correctly... but if you are staying within Sedona and drive out of town on 179... More
