Its a wild place but you need cash because there arent any ATM. If you are going to use your card you will be charged an extra money for that.

We went to Caño Island for snorkeling with a guide & it is absolutely beautiful. It is a protected site so everything is very wild & natural. We were lucky enough to see dolphins & sea turtles. Stunning location.

we snorkelled and was worth doing but not really a 5 star snorkel destination, Divers saw whale sharks, mantas etc etc

Definitively one of the best diving spots in Costa Rica (that is close to the capital city, because nothing is better than Cocos Island off course).You can see turtles, white tip sharks, eagle rays, lots of schools of fish...beautiful

My understanding is that the whale sharks and humpbacks will be gone by January. You will see rays and small white tip sharks.
