100% recommended. Hike level intermediate. Hike duration 5-6 hours. No guide is necessary, but it is recommended. Costs is around 5USD to access the trails to the volcano's top. Bring water, comfortable trekking shoes, and grab a stick or cane if you dont normally walk...More

Really steep hike. 3 hours long to go to the top, 2 hours down for active people. Bring enough water and a lunch/or snack. The view is suppose to be really nice during summer seasin (november to february). I did the hike in May and...More

San Pedro volcano is a challenging hike, consistently steep. Your time will vary considerably depending on your fitness and how hard you push, my girlfriend and I (late 20's) took about 2 hours 15 minutes to get up, and a bit less to descend. There...More

This is a great tral, very easy to follow. You will pay 100Q admission and then you can chose to pay a guide or walk on your own... although, typically your tuk tuk driver or his friend or someone else will "offer" to walk with...More

I have walked and horse back ride the volcano. Both are great experiences. The magic of the forest, birds, plants and views make it a place not to miss if you go to Lake Atitlán.

One tough hike. Bring water and food and good hiking boots. 5 hours but some amazing views of the dormant caldera. Legs nice and sore the next day. If you enjoy this, I would do it. I loved it.

I did this hike in the afternoon, after completing the Indian’s Nose sunrise hike that morning. Don’t bother with a tour group, you can do this on your own. Take a tuk tuk for 10 quetzals per person to the base of San Pedro. Here,...More

My wife and I decided to take on the challenge of Volcán San Pedro. We are both early thirties and although not daily gym goers we certainly wouldn’t say we’re unfit. This took a lot of strength mentally and physically to complete. We were staying...More
