Fun addition to our Grand Canyon Trip

Took the 2-hour tour and totally enjoyed it. Our guide was interesting, knowledgable and humorous. It was a nice, peaceful ride though a beautiful forest.

The lady at the desk was very friendly while checking us in. The three group leaders were willing to talk and share info about the area or just let us ride peacefully. We enjoyed our one hour ride. Two would have been too long for us.

We did the one hour trail ride because our South Rim mule ride got cancelled. We were very glad it did, as we had a lot of fun! The wranglers were authentic, the horses excellent, and they were able to get us on the ride last minute. Great especially for beginner riders as there is only walking, and an emphasis... More

We booked for a two hour ride, which takes you through the Kaibab National Forest. The horses are very well mannered, and the guides are very experienced and attentive. The lady who booked the ride for me was very clear that this was a walking ride through the forest, which was nice that she made it clear that there would... More

We did the hour trail tour. It was a totally new environment going on this trail ride and it was really cool to see the forest of Kaibob. We went with two trail guides who answered all our questions and were extremely helpful with giving instructions on how to ride the horse and to make sure we stayed on the... More

we visited the stables for the one-hour ride through the National Forest. Horses and staff were friendly, although a little quiet. We were hoping to learn a little more about the area vegetation and/or history...any info would have been appreciated. but instead got a quiet ride through a nice, well maintained trail. Kids loved it. I have to say that... More

The stables are in a great location, just outside of the National Park (though you can enter/exit all you want w/ the 7-day basic pass). It's a little pricey, but the horses are great and it's fun to see the Forest (NOTE: the National Forest is NOT the National Park, they are different things). My horse was a psuedo-celebrity (featured... More

When we told the kids that we'd be visiting the Grand Canyon, and that there were mules that took people up from the bottom, both asked if we could do the same. Unfortunately, we'd no plans to go down. However, they then asked if we could go horse riding. Luckily, the Apache Stables was nearby. That said, I then forgot... More

We chose this activity because we couldn't book a mule ride along the rim of the Grand Canyon. The one hour trail ride was a nice alternative. The guides are experienced and very helpful. They selected the right horse for each rider. The teens in our group had never been on a horse so it was a great experience, although... More
