I am a big fan of John Wayne. I wanted to visit Monument Valley because "The Searchers" and "Stagecoach" were filmed on this location. After paying the fee of $20 we were able to drive around the 17 mile loop taking photos of the amazing rock formations and enjoying the scenery. Beautiful vistas of rugged classical Western scenery. There is... More

the area is beautiful vistas and in the heart of Navajo Reservation. Its a drive to get there. Minimal hotels and there was a rug auction going on at a trading post and so availability was limited. we stayed here when we were running a race in canyon de chelly

We took the personal driving tour through Monument Valley in late October, and the scenery was great. I had seen photos before, but experiencing the valley itself and taking my own photos far exceeded my expectations. I believe that, had we not been traveling with another couple, I could have spent the entire day at a bare minimum. The roads... More

We have visited Monument Valley twice and have taken the drive around it. It was well worth the money. Lots of things to see that you can't see from the highway. Tried to visit last year but unfortunately the queue to get in was just too long. However it was the beginning of August. Will maybe visit again next year.

I believe that the Native Americans need to get all they can for how we've treated them and relegated them to second citizenship. Having said that, I wouldn't go into the Park again. The Visitors Center is fairly sparse. The view from the plaza is spectacular. But, the same view is available outside the Park. We didn't take the 17... More

We took a tour with Sheldon from Great Ventures tours. He was animated, entertaining and knowledgeable. Monument Valley has been the scene of so many western films (including "Once Upon a Time in the West"), we just had to go there. It was NOT disappointing. It mad for a long, long day tour all the way from Sedona and back,... More

My husband and I visited here in late Sept. 2016. Was all that we had imagined. Took in tours, stayed at the View Hotel, took hundreds of pictures and enjoyed the scenery! Definitely want to visit again.

Beautiful area. Very unique. Easy access. Good stopping location with all services. See it on a sunny day! Spend time reading about the area and its history. I learned a lot of information. Also, John Wayne did a movie here (for those of us that are older).

You can drive scenic road by your car or take guided tour by Navajo guide. Two types of trip they offer. 1,5 & 2,5 hours. The first is exactly the same that you can do by your car, it costs 85$ for each. The 2,5 is 95$ for each. By the way you also have to pay an entrance fee... More
