This is the site of the Quartermaster Depot, used by the army to store & distribute supplies to all the Arizona army posts & some in surrounding states. Various original buildings remain & have been renovated & display items of relevance. The park is only a few yards from the Colorado River & has a number of shade trees so... More

This museum pays homage to the beginnings of Yuma and its rich history as a fort, supply post and mining hub. It is well documented with examples of wagons, technology and maps. It is worth taking at least half an hour and making a small donation to see the history of the heart of the southwest.

Stopped by for an opportunity to see a bit of local history and was amazed at how much this one particular depot was involved in the history of the Army in the entire Southwest. This depot supplied forts from California to Texas and points as far up as the Utah area. The Quartermaster was tasked with keeping up with all... More

The Quartermaster Depot is a wonderful place to get a lot of local history & information about the Yuma area. There are books about the desert, Yuma, recipes, places to visit, and local writers, artists and about activities happening in the area. Great place to visit within the first year in Yuma & for all visitors and their families.

The staff is very friendly and helpful and it is only 4 dollars a person. The exhibits are either outside or in scattered buildings on the site so some walking is required. A lot of the plants and trees are labeled which was enjoyable as the weather was perfect. The old wagons, autos and the sample of the old plank... More

I guess this just wasn't my type of thing it was a long ways between each exhibit and they weren't very thorough with their information. I wish there had been knowledgeable people there to tell you about the exhibits. Free to get in so worth the time but we were only there about a half an hour.

The area is a park-like setting. There are two films to watch at your leisure on the history and wetlands. The Quartermaster's house is lovely. And it is very interesting to see where Yuma diverted some of the Colorado.
