Just go you won't be sorry. I would advice trying to schedule a tour because you really learn a lot of relevant info about this place and their story and all about all the animals that live there and where they came from. It just makes it more special. Also if you can go at feeding time (around 5ish) you... More

LCarterVick, We are glad that you came to visit. We appreciate the shout out about the tours (which leave every hour on the hour, no need to schedule one just make sure you are here when one leaves out). The final tour of the day catches one of the feedings. We hope you get the chance to come back again... More

The headline isn't just a pun, they have rescued several ligers and tiligers. This place is doing a great cause for animals that may not have a place anywhere else. They are a non-profit and the entry fees, donations and souvenir purchases all go towards protecting the animals. Our family had a wonderful time here for a couple of hours.... More

Adiscgolfer, We are glad that you enjoyed your visit. We are glad that you got the chance to learn about our furry family and their back stories. As a rescue we do our best to help animals in need and sadly there are a lot of exotic cans in need in the USA. We do hope you get the chance... More

We are cat lovers and appreciate wildlife management as well as humane treatment of animals. Guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Able to see animals in roomy enclosures receiving good care. Tickets purchased in town at their gift shop and got $2 discount on each ticket. Worth the price.

Njtw, Thank you for coming to visit during your spring break! This is a great time to visit the animals because they are still active from the cooler months. We hope you get the chance to come back and visit again soon. More

We didn't get to stay long due to very cold weather but we loved what we did see! The animals all look happy & very well fed. The staff were very knowledgeable about the animals individual personalities & their backgrounds. A great place with a great mission. Bam Bam the bear was our fave!

Natasha, We are glad that you came for a visit. The cooler weather can put a damper on a visit for humans but the animals absolutely love the cold. Perhaps your next visit you can stop in when it is a little warmer. We hope you get the chance to come back again soon. P.S. Bam Bam is a very... More

We enjoyed the tour of the refuge and the knowledgeable tour guide. She was very friendly and added a lot to the tour! The animals were well taken care of and seemed to have all their needs met and more! Would recommend this to all, young and old..

This was a very neat place. To hear the stories of how they take care of the large cats and how they took possession of them as well. Even with the colder weather, the cats were very active. We didn't do the walk through due to the cold weather, but there is a trolley that drives through.

tmhavron76, Thank you for visiting. The cold weather might not be fun for us humans, but the animals love the colder weather and are usually more active in the cooler months than the warmer months. We are glad that you enjoyed your visit and do hope you get the chance to come back again soon and take a walking tour. More

This was well worth the admission of $20 per adult, especially considering all of the money goes to this non-profit rescue center. The animals were mostly all out for the 10am guided tour. I believe the guided tours are on the hour, and while you wait, you can do a self-guided tour through a different area. Between both tours you... More

Go when the weather is cool, and the animals are more active. The guide was knowledgeable, gave some interesting stories about the animals. It's a shame that these magnificent creatures have to be penned up due to the stupidity and greed of previous owners, but if they must, at least they are treated with care and respect at this place.

Curtis, Thank you for the wonderful review. We are glad that you enjoyed your tour. We agree that we wish we were not needed but a sad fact is that we are. We hope to one day not be needed for rescue and maybe at that time we can move on to other projects like conservation or more educational focus. More

We brought my parents here. They were visiting from MN. My Dad has dementia and he really enjoyed the tour, looking at all the cats and living in the moment. It meant a lot to all of us. Imagine falling asleep listening to lions and tigers caroling just outside your window. At Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge doing just that is not a dream but a reality. Stay in one of the two rooms right in the middle of the refuge - one actually has tigers next door! The rooms are large, clean, and comfortable. Turpentine Creek recently rescued... More
