Dachau is an important site for the Second World War, and this Concentration Camp Memorial offers both some of the original buildings, and excellent displays and presentations about what went on here. The walk to the Crematoria at a far corner of the site is...More

On our recent visit to Germany, I made and effort to take my adult son to Dachau. This was my 2nd visit, the first with my wife some 15 years ago when we vowed to return and take our sons there to learn humanity at...More

A must visit for all of humanity. Horrifying to see what you have read about....Hope we never let this happen again. The museum is so well kept. We did not take a tour as we wanted to take the 11am museum tour. But it was...More

What an experience. Keith was our guide, and he was professional, very knowledgeable and brutally frank about the build up and realisation of this atrocious period. It was so informative and made you realise how we as humans can be manipulated to all sorts of...More

A really eerie place to visit. Really humbling. And so many people there yet the whole place is almost silent. The museum is really well done but the content is horrific. I chose not to go in some of the places like the crematorium but...More

To just see this camp gives you a feeling of what it was like back then and how horribly people were mistreated and kill just because of their religious beliefs. Memorial is very well restored and worth the time to go thru

If you're in Munich you have to take a trip to see Dachau. It's easy to get there, just take the S-bahn and there is a bus stop next to the train station in Dachau. Very easy to find. The admission is free. I do...More

It was a hard decision to visit Dachau and we were celebrating our anniversary in Europe and did not want to ruin the happy mood, but I felt it would be disrespectful not to visit this historic place that witnessed one of humanities darkest tragedies....More

A must see! We took teens there and great history is learned. Very moving. You see so much and they have a snack bar which serves good food.

Out tour guide, Grit, added so much to the tour by explaining the politics that led to this, and the behind the scene things not covered in the memorial. It was sobering, but something we are glad we did. Seeing it is different than reading...More

I'm really hoping to get to see this but also very little on time. How much time does it take to go through and does anyone have any information on transport to get there? Thanks in advance

It is free and you can spend as much time as you want
Hello, I'm traveling with a partner and we will be heading to the train station directly from the airport. We will have two backpacks with us as we won't be checking into our hotel until after the tour. I'm curious as to what the backpack policy is like. Will we have the opportunity to store them somewhere either at the memorial site or on the bus? Or will be allowed to carry them throughout the site? Thank you - Max

Or if you'd like, store your backpacks at the train station. The lockers we used were right by the main doors.
Hello, would you recommend booking a tour in advance? Vs going day of to get in. Thanks!

There is genuinely no need to book a tour in advance, there are regular daily tours that you can join on at any time that suits you whenever you arrive
