This is a beautiful journey going through a stunning gorge up into the hills. The only problem we had is that we got the afternoon train from Diakopto, which meant that we only had 15 minutes in our destination.

Maybe it was because it was so hot and dry but the views were good but not special, not much water running anywhere. Took us ages to find the railway at all very little signage. We went on the train around pm ( very pleasant...More

This is a absolute must do trip if you are in the area! The railway travels up through the Vouraikos gorge having to use its ‘rack and pinion’ on a number of steep sections. The views are stunning and you will have time for lunch...More

Get out of the heat and have a relaxing experience of mountain region. Very scenic and A MUST for train lovers! If you want to walk around the trails I suggest you get off at Kalivitis.

It's an adventure and a mechanical miracle how this small train climbs the mountain! It's an experience and a beautiful trip, full of fantastic scenery. As long as you are not in a hurry.

The trip from Kalavrita offered pleasant scenery but not much else. It's something to do if you find yourself in Kalavrita, but I wouldn't go out of my way to take the trip if you're only in Kalavrita for a day or two.
