Recommend all visitors to this city stop here to get a picture of the level of Nazi atrocities in rural Greece. If you are not a WW2 historian you will still learn a large amount about the massacre here.

Although most of the exhibits are not something special, the visit to the museum is unique. Videos play constantly giving to the guests testimonies of the events from survivors and witnesses. Recommend it.

Don’t be misled by the use of the epithet “holocaust” - this has nothing to do with the Jewish victims of fascism. Nevertheless, what happened at Kalavryta was yet another evil consequence of the Nazi regime in Germany. Kalavryta was the location for a notorious...More

Beautiful small 'Museum' but this isn't history. Brings the war so close especially if you have stayed with local families as they lost their grandfathers, uncles , brothers. Difficult to comprehend now.

The beauty of the ride from Diakopto to Kalavryta on the narrow gauge railway is unsurpassed. The lovely village of Kalavryta must have been the most awful place in 1943. Visits to the Memorial on the hill where so many died and the Museum of...More

This was a moving experience made all the more memorable by the beautiful decorations in the church. We stopped in the village after taking the train from Diakopto into the mountains. Before lunch we took a walk through the village and came across the church....More

This is an excellent Museum, and possibly the only one of its kind in Greece. It commemorates the murder, by the Nazi Germans, of hundreds of men and boys over the age of 13, on 13 December, 1943. It is in the centre of the...More

Very informative museum describing the horrors and atrocities performed by the Nazis in WWII. They were ready to burn alive women and children in the town's school, massacred all men above 14 years old. Shocking and revolting!
