This is the biggest and most impressive monastery - from the inside point of view. There's a lot to see inside, including a small museum. We entered 3 out of the 6, and definitely enjoyed this one the most. To the other ones we just made the climb, up till the entrance, and that was enough for us. This one... More

Peaceful environment, very nice frescos in the church. A small museum gives nice history of this place. It has been recently renovated and maintained well. Do bit of read up if you don't know greek as you may not understand much there. It was bit crowded when we're there. Nice view of other monasteries. Great photography opportunities!

A real treasure in a unique place with great view. It is worth visiting for a life experience. Climbing up the 300 steps really deserve the effort. Don't miss it.

Meteora is in general a perfect destination among the Unesco heritage sites. The Megalo Meteoro monastery offers an exceptional view and a silent veranda to enjoy it. It's a must destination

I recommend visiting the individual, not the group. Also, spring, not summer! You will feel the difference if you can be with the car when you visit the monasteries of Meteora.

The monasteries at meteroa are an amazing experience. A must see. Great friendly people and amazing views. All the different monasteries are similar but offer different views. The climb is definitely worth it.

This one is the must. It has a nice insight on a history of Meteora, a great exposition of holy books and artifacts. There's a small museum, and a lot of things to see. I'd recommend to take a private guide, which knows the history of religion very well, since there's a lot of things to be told. Very interesting... More

This was an amazing place to visit. The icons are beautiful, but the views of these magnificent monolithic rocks rising out of the land were spectacular. This is well worth the visit. It is amazing to think of the monks who chose to live here

We visited three, and this was the most expansive and had the most interesting items and architecture to see.
