Meteora is really one of the most spectacular places. This is the major monastery there. Warning, a reasonable degree of fitness needed to get up to the monastery.

This monastery was closed when we visited but the view was astounding. I'm sure on the days when it is open it would be worth visiting.

This kind of places makes me proud to be a human being: it’s a proof our species is able to go beyond its limits and create buildings in remote places. Such a refreshing, humbling, dazzling experience, and God knows we need that!
