Situated high with lots of walls and building to wander around. Tranquile with lots of spectacular views of the surroundings. Ample free parking ofr cars and freee of charge to wander around.

The best view of Halden. Incredible fortress arcitecture. Large area. Perfect for a walk with friends or your loved one. Or alone.

surely worth a visit if you are in Halden. The Fortress is right on top of the hill and can be reached by walking directly from town. Nice place with a lot of green quite places around.

It is a great place to visit, full of history and you have access almost everywhere. Information board are all over the place both in English and Norse. Amazing views from the top. Great photo opportunities from top of the hill or from the bottom.

We visited one Saturday morning during September - off season. The museum and cafe were closed, but the outside area was opened and available for visit free of charge. There is a nice parking area below the fortress and beautiful park around. The fortress is...More

Very interesting to walk around in Fredristen Festing and look at the old buildings which are rich in history. One will also experience a magnificent view overlooking the Halden.
